Reflection of the Excel Map

June 11, 2010 by

The Washington Map was actually pretty fun to do. What I’ve learned is that Mclouglin wasn’t a mean docter and let the pioneers die but was actually helpful and gave them food, also how the Nez Perce and many other  Indians were driven from their home and put on reservations and basically left to die. What I’ve learned about projects like these is that these take incredibly long to do, many mistakes are easily made and it’s sometimes painsakingly boring and repetative to check and make he map look nice. I did great in the basic stuff like just making comments and hyperlinks but I could have been better in doing interactive things and making it look pretty. In general, my content was good my not my style. Overall, I’ve learned how Washinton started from the ocean to  becoming oregon territory and then becoming it’s own state and finally learing it’s troubles and acheivment from their this trimester and personally, I thought it was a little fun.

Reflection of the Crusades Research

March 3, 2010 by

It was pretty good and the feedback I got was also very good becuase it said I didn’t need to change anything. I like my introduction most becuase it makes the whole thing sound epic and cool even though it’s really not that exciting. Although my three factors could be somewhat improved. They were not really explained as much as possible. Now if I could dpo this over I would most likely try to get more extra credit instead of just being done with it. My favorite part of the proccess was the diigo toolbar becuase it helped me keep track of the most important things. What I disliked was the website citation. It was very boring and seemed pointless. But overall, it was pretty cool.

Dabbleboard reflection and what I learned about the 5 Pillars of Islam

January 26, 2010 by

Dabbleboard was ok. At first it was very confusing but eventually I got it and my partner and I were able to finish it in a reasonable amount of time after trying a few ideas. The good things were that it was quick and effective. Pasting a colouring and writing are tedious, repetative and boring. Plus I really suck at all of them. Thats why dabbleboard is better than doing it for real. What I learned about the 5  pillars of Islam  is why Muslims do the things they do. Like why do they dress in simple white clothing during the Hajj? It’s to show respect. Why do they give 2.5 percent of their wealth to the poor? To prevent greed. It’s like judging a book by it’s cover, you never really know what it’s about until you actually read it.

My Muhammed Book Reflection

January 19, 2010 by

My Muhammed Book was ok. I made a few mistakes here and there like my ink sinked through the cover and  I really can not draw well but my ideas and content were pretty good. If I could do this again i definatly would make sure to: 1.Have a sharpener nearby 2.Not use ink that sinks through 3. Try to not switch pages with  others on accident

10 Tips on How to Survive the Arabian Peninsula

December 16, 2009 by

                                                                                                  The Desert

You must have camels. They can carry your things and cango a very long time without water. You must keep moving. If you stay in one place in the middle of the desert, you will never find food or water and your animals will die.Visit towns to trade for goods. If you don’t resupply, eventually you will find yourself in the desert with nothing to eat or drink.

The Oases

First you need to become sedentary near an oasis. They provide food and water for crops and animals. Create an irrigation system to your crops. They will die otherwise becuase it doesnt rain at oases. If possible, grow date palms. They can provide food, shelter, clothes etc.

CoastalPlains

You must controll your water source with something like a dam. It rains a lot there and there is notelling when a flash flood might hit. Make sure your water source is fresh water. Since your by the sea most of the water is going to  be salt water.

Mountains

You should also make dams here. The air is damp and moist from the water  from the nearby coastal plains. Terraces also have to be part of this place. They create more space to farm and stop water from completely draining away.

Thats all you need to know to live it big in these four envirmoents on the Arabian Peninsula!

Dear Mom and Dad,

November 23, 2009 by

So far I’ve done really well in school and learned a lot in each class. Like in math and how I have learned how to simplify algebraic expresions and evaluate algebraic inequalitys. Or in science like how we learned how the rock cycle works and a bunch og geological words like unconformity and law of original horizontality. In L.A. I’ve learned how to make a great paragraph with yellows and reds and improved upon them. And in S.S. have learned about how the bubonic plauge spread and affected the fuedal society or how Romes architecture and art has spread and influenced ours. The only thing I believe I did wrong was never use my Eagle Book and almost always procrastinate. I can fix these by leaving notes to remind me to do these things. So with these pointers, I think my 2nd trimester will be better than my 1st!

Church peom reflection

October 14, 2009 by

In this past week, we did a church peom. My best part and personall favorite was my llluminated T. I think it was the most colorful and best drawn part of it. If I could have fixed something, I would have added more color  to everything else, right now its dull and dim. The best learning tool I used was to put down my basic idea and put in the details later. This way I get done faster without wasting any of my effort. Oh and Mr.T, if your reading this, the guy with the cross staff is the pope and hes wearing completley white.

what I learned so far in S.S.

October 14, 2009 by

So far I learned that the church revolved around many peoples lives. The people connected everything that happened in their lives to the will of god. Every day they prayed and during holidays, they went to church. The pop is often thought to have more power than the king. Once, the pope and king Henry got in a fight about being able to choose preists and bishops. The pope excommunicated Henry and Henry finally gave in and asked for forgivness
